Welcome to National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Kolkata. NIPER, Kolkata was established in 2007 under the aegis of Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers as a Centre of Excellence for higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences. The Institute was declared as an Institute of National importance by Government of India through the Act of Parliament (NIPER Act 1998 & NIPER amendment Act 2007). We are proud of preparing dynamic leaders, who make a difference to the world, with the skills that are nurtured here for a better tomorrow. While navigating through our website, I hope that you will get a better understanding of various activities of the Institute including academic, research and others, aimed to meet the objective of excellence for higher education, research and development in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

NIPER Kolkata offers faculty and students a vibrant ecosystem that nurtures and encourages innovation and entrepreneurship. In addition, our academic outreach initiative connects us to prominent researchers in several major academic institutes and industries through collaborations. I take this opportunity to invite more industries and researchers from academics and research institutions for effective collaborations. Institute in pursuit of its mission has created a history in introducing a course curriculum on rare diseases leading to 2 credits (36 hours of teaching) for the first time in the global context at the master’s level at NIPER Kolkata. Course curriculum has been designed on the initiative of DoP in collaboration of Minnesota University, USA.

In the coming years, NIPER Kolkata aims to position itself among the world’s foremost academic institutions in Pharmaceutical Sciences and allied areas. We will focus on building our core research strengths in all frontiers of Pharmaceutical Sciences, develop world-class teaching programmes, nurture translational research and encourage the incubation of successful start-ups. NIPER Kolkata provides an interdisciplinary, living and learning education to help build the entrepreneurial mindsets, skill sets, and relationships invaluable to developing innovative, impactful solutions to today's problems.
